In North Texas, summer's scorching light,
The fiery grip of the sun, a relentless might.
On arid ground, long days of searing heat,
Cool respite rare, relief's a fleeting feat.
The dry earth whispers thirst among the rays,
Shrinking, cracks, from sun’s unyielding gaze.
Yet 'midst this expanse, a figure stood steadfast,
A soul enduring, strength unsurpassed.
In shimmering waves of heat, she held strong,
Facing the sun's blaze, where she belonged.
The Texas summer, a crucible, fierce and true,
With courage, she endured, while her spirit grew.
